Suri Cruise: Star of Stage and Screen?

on Dec. 16, 2008 02:20 PM / 3 Comments

Tom Cruise, 46, told Us that he would "love it" if his daughter Suri, 2, became an actress.

Well, she doesn't seem to have taken a bad picture so far, despite being photographed more often than any other two-year-old in history; so she's clearly cut out for the public life.

And now Tom is taking this Top Tot thing as far as it can go.

"I'd love it. I'd love it," he responded at Monday's Valkyrie premiere when asked if he'd like his daughter to follow in Mommy and Daddy's footsteps. "Acting is ... a great life to get to entertain people and create characters and stories."

Tom, who is vigorously promoting his movie of Nazi intrigue and drama, says that Suri already knows how to handle herself on movie sets.

"It's amazing how quickly she adapted to set," he said in praise of his little girl. "To know to be quiet when I'm shooting ... I mean, Suri was great on the set."

Cruise feels that because Suri has begun to talk now, she can probably handle scripts and learning her lines.

"Her vocabulary is great," Cruise gushes. "The ones that we love are, 'I love you.' I love hearing 'I love you, dada. I love you, mama.'"

It will be a shock if Suri doesn't catch the acting bug.

She's been living with mom Katie Holmes, 29, in New York City this fall. While Katie performs in All My Sons, her daughter's been observing the theatre firsthand.

In fact, the littlest Cruise is pretty much the toast of the NYC cultural scene.
