Tara Reid Spins Into Rehab

In "what took so long" news, actress, bikini merchant, plastic surgery hobbyist and occasional party girl Tara Reid has checked into rehab.

People magazine reports that the 33-year-old Reid, best known for her semi-virginal role in American Pie and dating Carson Daly, is currently ensconced at Promises Treatment Center in Malibu. The same facility has in the past serviced Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

In a statement to the magazine, Reid's rep, Jack Ketsoyan, added, "We appreciate your respect to her and her family's privacy at this time."

Ketsoyan did not say what his client is being treated for, or how long her stay will be.

A friend of Reid's added, "She checked in herself—it was her decision."

Long known for her hard-partying ways, Reid was spotted in September unsteadily exiting New York eatery Cipriani with the assistance of two acquaintances.

In October, Reid told People that her wild times were behind her.

"I've done enough for a lifetime of everything. I've had a great time. I partied. I had fun. I ate and drank whatever," Reid said. "I dated a million guys, but I'm so happy with where I'm at right now. I don't need to do anything anymore."

It looks like she means business.
