Tara Reid's Rehab Is on the House?

Being famous and a mess has its perks.  According to Star magazine, for 33-year-old If I Had Known I Was a Genius actress Tara Reid those privileges include a free stay at the Promises treatment center in Malibu, California.

Reid's romance with intoxication has been long term and well-documented.  Every episode of her short-lived reality series, Taradise, seemed to include Tara falling on her butt, stumbling out of control or babbling incoherently.  She made news by checking into rehab in early December, but the story seemed to surprise no one.

Lately, Tara is better known for her plastic surgery errors and bikini modeling than for her movie roles (Senior Skip Day), but Star is reporting that the administrators at Promises still believe Tara to be a celebrity who will draw impressionable addicts to their doors.

“Enrollment is down due to the bad economy, so in an effort to drum up publicity, they asked around Hollywood to see who wanted to stay there for free,” says a source.

For mere mortals, Promises costs about $1,600 a night.  Lindsay Lohan is an alumnus of the program, although whether or not she can be seen as a living endorsement is about as questionable as Tara Reid's selling power.

It makes sense that Miss American Pie would mooch a stay in the swank facility.  After all, she's obviously been very good at getting people to buy her free drinks.

Rehab center Promises in Malibu, California, is denying a Star report that they recently allowed actress Tara Reid a free stay complete with no bag check-in for publicity to revive their ailing business. TMZ reports that Promises released a statement that said "the suggestion that Promises would search Hollywood for a celebrity who needs rehab in an effort to garner publicity is libelous, offensive and without merit." Star has recently taken the story off their website, and had no comment.
