Taylor Momsen on Her Bad Attitude: Blame My Parents
In many ways, Taylor Momsen is far from the typical teenage girl. But in other aspects, she fits right in with the teen archetype—such as her tendency to blame her parents for everything.
The 17-year-old Gossip Girl hellion and Pretty Reckless rocker opened up to WENN in a recent interview about her generally glum attitude, placing responsibility squarely on the shoulders of her parents for pushing her into show business too early:
“Everyone’s like, ‘Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?’ My parents signed me up with Ford (modeling agency) at the age of two. No two year old wants to be working, but I had no choice. My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn’t have friends. I was working constantly and I didn’t have a real life.”
Maybe Momsen should cheer up and have some perspective; in terms of showbiz parents, she could have things much worse.
Even so, do you think Taylor has a point? Let us know in the comments section.

I suppose that now that you are rich and famous they get no credit for dragging you to all those auditions and believing you were special. Although you’re not, can’t sing and look like all the other girls your age, ur just plain. Bitch please.
i guess all the comments she gets about her nasty attitude got to her.
her life is pretty damn good, so she should stop pointing the finger. shes a bitch because thats how she chooses to act, so she can come off as some “badass rocker”. stop blaming people and take some personal responsibility. just because you’re a bitch and nobody likes your stank ass attitude doesnt mean you can all of a sudden say “its my parents fault”.
and if being a celebrity bothered her that much, she can always quit.
she is the biggest poser ever…what a joke
She needs to get a god damn grip. WANNABE.
I’m going to have to disagree with you, Celebuzz. Taylor Momsen is in many ways your typical teenage girl: she’s convinced that she’s more of a badass than she really is.
What a poser. She’s nothing more than a Cobain wannabe. Her song “Zombie” even sounds like “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” which is probably the only grunge song that she can name.
say what you will about her attitude, her tits are nice
It’s always so convenient to blame one’s parents but there comes a time when we make our own decisions. If she hates the biz so much, then get out.
she should be thankful..
Bizarrely enough, I posted a commercial on YouTube yesterday that I worked on with Taylor when she was 3. Apparently I was part of the problem. Sorry, world! She was pretty cute back then though… just search for Shake ‘N Bake Taylor Momsen commercial on YouTube if you want to see it.
maybe those pagent parents will stop trying to make a buck off their kids… Maybe Demi feels the same way! Maybe she doesn’t give a fu*k about money, and wanted a normal childhood! Has anyone thought about it like that? Not everyone wants to be in the limelight!
She scares me :O
Eh, typical teenager. She’ll grow out of it.
c’monn..!! who doesnt want to be a popular child..? not me for sure..!
Sure, blame your parents. How many people want to be famous and work in Hollywood? How many people want to have their names in the newspaper? Stop whining and appreciate what you have. Unlike some celebrities, such as Adam Lambert, you didn’t earn stardom. Your parents signed you up. Be thankful. By the way, don’t act like a spoiled brat. Anyone can act, and you’re not very good at it, ok?

Of course she earned her stardom!! She had to work and wasn’t born rich! She had to start working when she was 2 years old. She never had a normal childhood. Now she has to accept that everything she does will be judged by people who don’t even know her!! I feel sorry for her, because she has never been a normal child and because her parents forced her to be a star.

Being rich does not mean you are happy, I do think she has a point, parents should stop trying to live through their kids, it wasn’t in her best interests to be in the business so early, it was her parents. she could have chosen to go into the business when she was old enough to make her own choices, but it seems like her parents wanted their way and did not consider her well being.
Wow Taylor. Things could be much worse. Your life is so hard…BLAH BLAH BLAH.

That’s true, it’s really screwed up what parents do to get their kids on TV…however, if she can choose to have a bad attitude and dress like a gothic prostitute, then she can choose to quit show biz
yes, she could have things much worse, but not having a good childhood can do so much to people’s perspective of things and, the rest of their life. I agree with Taylor.

I agree and at 2 years old, this poor girl didn’t even get a choice. It seems like the modeling was more about the parents than Taylor and that’s really sad.
I feel badly for her. There is more to life than fame and money, especially if you didn’t want it to begin with. :{
Yeah I agree with DOM, I mean there psychology theories that teens act the way they do because of the environment there raised in. I mean MONEY really doesn’t mean anything sometimes and Money can’t make up for friends. I think we should give some of these celebrity teens a rest, they should be able to make mistakes just like normal teens do.
You are all saying she should be thankful, but you know what? it’s lonely at the top and you have no idea how it’s like!!
so you have no idea what you’re talking about!
I love her style. If you search images of a couple years back, when she played Jenny on Gossip Girl, she looked so different. And her attitude was much more happy. I think that her scene/rocker type change is what she wants herself to be. And I think it’s pretty cool, but I have to admit she was a lot prettier without all that black eyeshadow and eyeliner on.
