Taylor Momsen Reveals Her Indifference on Haiti, Disdain for Puppies
Surprise—Taylor Momsen‘s classiness extends beyond her choice of wardrobe.
While the rest of her show-business colleagues unite to provide assistance and support in the wake of Haiti’s 7.0 earthquake this week—which took an estimated 50,000 lives—the Gossip Girl hellion says she has more pressing matters on her mind. Such as herself.
Catching up with the 16-year-old at a Victoria’s Secret in New York, where she was shilling her new celebrity fragrance, OK! Magazine solicited Momsen’s thoughts on the tragedy, to which she replied:
“Um, right now I’m trying to just finish my record and getting through the last season of Gossip Girl for right now. So not so much thinking about that.”
But hey, she does think that “it’s awesome that everyone is ya know working towards a good cause.”
Sure. And maybe when this whole Haiti thing has blown over, they can mount a fundraising drive to buy Momsen a soul.

Ignorance is no excuse but as most of you have already noticed she’s only a spoilt teenager – she won’t have a full grasp of the ‘outside world’. Most teenagers wouldn’t be able to point out Haiti on a map.
Plus that quote above has no context to it, it doesn’t even have the question to which it goes with. That’s typical for these kind of articles, most of which bend the truth in order to sell magazines.
Like I said, ignorance is no excuse and she needs to think about what she says in the future but on the other hand she’s only a typical American teenager.

I bet if you went to a local high school and talked to real teens, a lot would say things just like that (and probably even worse). I honestly don’t hate her for what she said. She’s sixteen years old, she doesn’t need to be involved with every thing going on. She’s busy with acting, which I can understand. Sure, she should care; but it doesn’t make her horrible or selfish for not devoting her time and energy in helping out people in Haiti.

The people who are writing may or may not be donating, maybe some cannot, regardless this just shows how self-involved she is, most of the people in haiti already had nothing and now they really have nothing, she could cough up some money to give, i have family and friends that are now over there and have been going over there for quite awhile, the pics, and stories they came back with and tell are devastating, and now it has gotten worse a normal thinking person would have heard the news and had compassion but not the same goes for a strung out slut like her.
Without a video or audio clip, I’m highly skeptical of the accuracy of this quote. This portrays her as a careless, thoughtless and completely ignorant. I’ve worked with her, and that’s just not something she’d say. She’s intelligent and image conscious. Even if that is how she feels, she knows better than to say it to a tabloid. If someone asked her about college plans, dating or the Golden Globes, that’s the response they’d get. And no, it’s not the last season of Gossip Girl. Hey, it’s not as if she said the Haitians deserved it.
Just because other people from the cast of Gossip Girl felt they could help Haiti doesn’t mean she is the same. We don’t know her circumstances at all.
I know for me, I am not well, so it takes a lot for me to focus on things and I get tired a lot. Do I care about Haiti? Yes. Would I choose to go there over my priorities? No.
What I am doing is letting people know that UPS is willing to ship out food, clothing or anything else under 50 pounds to Haiti for free. American Airlines is flying out doctors and nurses to Haiti for free. Even if I feel I can’t help, I can help others help.
And yeah, she is 16. There are a lot of self involved 16 year olds. I imagine she has school to deal with as well.

Actually, I am a teacher and right now at my schoolboard, we are taking donations (even if it’s 50 cents and one dollars) from the students; they are baking cookies to sell them in order to make money for Haiti…I understand your point but believe me…in high schools at the moment, that’s all we talk about. Maybe it’s the fact that she doesn’t attend a school like teenagers her own age, that’s why she is living in her whole little bubble. I think she is making it worst for herself, it’s quite bad publicity for her right now….it’s too bad she doesn’t have her parents or her agent around her making sure that she doesn’t say stupid things like this or actually showing that in life, there is more than just herself.

Her age is no excuse. My little sister is fifteen and is helping implement a Haiti relief team at her high school by raising money and supplies for the displaced. Taylor Momsen just does not care about anyone but herself. It’s unfortunate but true…
