Taylor Momsen is not a fan of Rihanna’s choice of outerwear. In the new issue of Spin magazine, the Gossip Girl star and Pretty Reckless singer says the word “rock” is losing it sacred toughness – and Rihanna is partly to blame.
People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing f****** leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.
Meow! Let’s hope these leather-loving ladies don’t bump into each other any time soon.

Taylor Momsen is only about 16 years old, so I don’t understand where she gets her fashion street cred. She dresses like an unemployed hooker in most of the photos I’ve ever seen of her and I don’t think that is “rock” either. If they sell leather jackets at Forever 21 and other mass market shops, how can she think that associating someone to rock music for wearing one is going to prove any sort of point? I’ve also seen her in a prom dress spread for a prom magazine so I don’t think she should be riding her high horse all over town about how rock n roll she is.
Oh my gosh, someone tell Taylor to shut the f*ck up! Nobody gives a sh*t about her opinions on other people. Leather jackets are a fashion statement, it has nothing to do with music genres. She needs to go play in busy traffic.
1. The Rihanna song is just a song. Rihanna ‘rocks’ her clothes and some confidence. Taylor sounds like a whiny high school kid complaining about ‘posers’.
2. Taylor looks way too manicured in these photos to even talk about things as if she, herself, embodies ‘rock’.
3. You can’t blame the evolution of music and what appeals to the majority on one person/artist. There’s a lot of meshing of rock/pop/hip hop/rap these days. Even country/pop/rock It just is what it is. Get over it.
4. I am so very tired of music/ fashion elitists and the whole elitist attitude in general. Almost anything goes these days. Stop trying to label yourselves. (Identity crisis alert)
I personally love all kinds of music and I respect the artists that release what they like/love/feel.

another thing i have to say. everyone in the music industry wears leather jackets. run dmc wore leather jackets in the 80s, michael jackson wore a leather jacket in beat it and thriller. i think madonna wore leather jackets in the 80s, i’m not sure.

I think Taylor is damn right. Rihanna was always a sweet nice r&b girl but now she’s just some other bitch who’s tryin to act like the producers want her to. She really lost herself after the Chris Brown-accident. I think he slammed every tiny bit R&B out her. And for all those ppl who say that ”she can wear leather blablash*t”. That’s really bullsh*t. Because I think Taylors point is that Rihanna has changed in a very awkward way and not a good one. She’s not herself, if you know what I mean. For example, listen to her first album Music Of The Sun. And then listen to her last album. Then you’ll understand what I’m sayin. But seriously even if you look at just her album names you can see she’s changed SO SO SO SO (actually waaaaaay too) MUCH. I think it’s really weird how a nice sweet sunkissed caribbean girl can change in a shortcuthaired fake rocker/punker. It’s like she’s toughened up a little too much.

Being “Rock” is a state of mind- not just a look. Rihanna has a “rock star” attitude. It’s an attitude that is already apart of that artist personality. Wearing a leather jacket does not make you rock; Not caring what others say and not taking sh*t from people does.
