Taylor Swift’s Label Boss to World: “Leave Taylor Alone!”
Wow; somebody‘s acting just a wee bit defensive.
Following widespread complaints that Taylor Swift‘s duet with Stevie Nicks at Sunday’s Grammy Awards wasn’t quite pitch-perfect, Scott Borchetta, President of Swift’s label Big Machine Records, is lashing out at her critics, countering that, yeah, being on key is important, but it’s the feeling that counts, man.
Making his displeasure known through the media megaphone that is the Nashville Tennessean, Borchetta accused Swift’s detractors of “missing the bigger picture”:
“The facts say she is the undisputed best communicator that we’ve got. When she says something, when she sings something, when she feels something, it affects more people than anybody else…Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it.”
Oh, and if there’s any doubt left about the awesome communicating power of his artist, Borchetta would like to direct your attention to the four trophies she picked up on Sunday night:
“Maybe in that moment we didn’t have the best night. But in the same breath, maybe we did. And nobody is arguing with the awards.”

maybe it was the best performance of hers but it was still good, i still enjoyed it. There are many other artists out there who have had way worse performances than this. People need to leave taylor alone. She won four grammys for a reason. If you don’t like her music, fine, but don’t hate on her.

lol, ironic that Stevie used to sound a bit off key live.
The studio perfects their sound for the recordings, but they both are smokin’ hot in person singing & better then lip synchin’ like some overpaid artists.
Can’t expect perfection every performance plus shows how important the tech people & equipment are, hard to sing in key if monitors & other equipment out of sync.

No guys, it’s not like that. SHE’S A FREAKIN SINGER! Just look at Beyonce! She can sing and dance and act and everything. Taylor has great songs, but sorry… She can’t sing them. They sound great but … only on the CD when they are manipulated. That the truth.

Stevie Nicks DOES look great and this should have been a great performance. I was so excited when stevie came out on stage. The record label president can offer excuses all day long but in the end Taylor Swift was truly dreadful and the whole thing was an embarassment. I’m not a Taylor hater but even her behavior was too much. She was singing with a rock legend and should have stopped trying to hog the spotlight. If I were Stevie Nicks I would have went home and got drunk! What a shame.
Taylor Swift= excellent song-writer, not that great singer. Never has been. But come on, why all the backlash now? Hasn’t the fact that she’s no Carrie Underwood been long known? I love Taylor Swift and she’s great, but really? Isn’t all this buzz stating the longtime obvious?

I think she sounded great! Not her best, but still great!
Plus, it’s her song. She wrote the lyrics, probably wrote the music, she can see it however she wants.

I totally agree! she isnt the best singer but she sings from the heart, and i can feel everything she sings!
