Tila Tequila Gets the Gays Married

on Jun. 13, 2008 07:53 AM / 8 Comments

She should ride at the front of the pride parades for her significant contributions to gay-rights history. A Shot at Love star Tila Tequila told Us magazine she feels her reality show is one of the reasons California dropped its ban on gay marriage.

Her MTV show features half straight men and half gay women (but all trashy) competing to earn the love of the diminutive, allegedly bisexual onetime MySpace phenom.

Yes, both sexes go on cable TV to fame-whore and compete to bed a woman named Tequila. Have you ever heard of a more eloquent plea for equal rights? No wonder the California legislature took notice. Thank you, Tila! You're truly a pioneer!

"It is because of me—I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement," she said at the Love Guru premiere on Wednesday.

"Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive," she said. "Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Yep, all of America tuned in and realized they needed to get into gay and bisexual love. Like kayaking or scrapbooking.

Everyone needs a hobby.

    Who's Tila Tequila?

Actually, the movement against the gay marriage ban has slowly been increasing for years and years, but its due to people like Tila that pushed them over the edge. Nobody wants to hear her complain about how she has too many straight men and lesbians to choose from anymore.

she's a perfect argument for allowing ANYONE to get married. she probably thinks monogamy is a board game.

Get off her back! Everyone knows her statements are true!

    STOP HARSHING ON THE T!

MTv doesn't get NEARLY enough credit for all the positive sociological things their shows have do-

    Oh, sorry.

    It's the crack talking.

GOTTA get off the goddamned pipe.
