Tori Spelling: Practically Worthless

Aug 11, 2008 at 7:00pm

First Beverly Hills 90210 alum Tori Spelling gets screwed out of her inheritance. Then her pooch dies.

Now she suffers the indignity of discovering that she’s worth less than half of what Shannen Doherty—who can’t even get arrested in this town—is.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Tori is pulling out of the upcoming 90210 spin-off, because she’s being stiffed compared to her would-be co-stars. Stiffed hard.

Fellow former 90210-ers Doherty and Jennie Garth will apparently be receiving “$35,000-$50,000″ per episode. Spelling was offered a mere “$10,000-$20,000″ a pop to reprise her role as Donna Martin.

When Spelling discovered the salary gap, she flipped out and demanded equal pay—and was denied by CW execs. “She thought she deserved parity,” says an insider.

Yes, definitely. After all, her new reality-TV series, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, is a big…well, it hasn’t been canceled yet.

All this comes just as Tori’s mom, Candy, is buying a $47 million condo for herself in Los Angeles. That’s a family-size dose of salt being rubbed into Tori’s wounds.

The network is presumably searching for Spelling’s replacement. Which shouldn’t be too difficult; plenty of performers fit her profile in Hollywood, and they’ll probably work cheap.
