Trace Cyrus: "The Jonas Brothers Put Out This Image That's Totally Fake"

on Aug. 14, 2009 07:15 AM / 157 Comments

Did his sister put him up to this?

Trace Cyrus, older brother to Miley Cyrus and lead singer of the band Metro Station, is speaking out about the Jonas Brothers in a new interview with Men's Style.

Is he a fan of the band's squeaky-clean image? Doesn't look like it.

"I'm not trying to clean my image to make anyone happy. I could have gone the route of the Jonas Brothers. Those guys can't live their lives freely. They have to put out this image that's totally fake."

The 20-year-old singer, who recently split with pop star Demi Lovato, doesn't even think the boys could hold their own in a fight. "Don't think any of them would be much trouble. I'd never lay a hand on Nick, I love that kid, but the other two better not get in my way."

Sheesh.

However, later on the interview, he urges fans (and non-fans) not to judge him based on his body, which is covered in tattoos.

"The only way to protect yourself is to kill people with kindness. People have this idea of what I'm like by looking at me, and I like shocking them by showing them I'm a good guy."

Ya totally fake just like you comming from a rich family but trying to look poor. This dude is the king of posers so he needs to shut up. Why doesn't he talk about his little sister acting like a totally fake role model to young girls? This guy needs to pierce both of his lips shut.

i am sure he is right they should live a little more freely than do but is what they choose to do like the rest of us do.

Um, that he may be right. Their image is definitely part of their act.

That doesn't mean that they are necessarily being fake, they could be squeaky clean individuals but more than likely a lot of their outward appearance to the public is carefully put together. The purity rings and such.

But it could be worse. They are role models for young kids.

but i don't feel that Trace is saying anything all that shocking. And I love men with tattoos. Specially good guys with tattoos. :D

i think trace is soo out of order...the boys have pretty much the same image as his little sister soo he really should look at her too

He always says that kind of trash. This is how he gets noticed. If becoming famous off your sister and dad doesn't work, find the next person. He is the fake one. I don't believe the Jonas Brothers wish they had poor hygiene, no values, and tatoos all over. And I'm positive they aren't wanting to make bad music and sleep with any trash they can find on the road. But he got what he wanted, you printed an article about him.

Not saying he isn't right, but um, nice hair. Could he be trying any harder?

Miley doesn't really stick with her cookie cutter image too well though. Hello pole dancing at the TCA anyone? lol

Not that she is really a "rebel" or anything, but the JoBros definitely know that Disney wants them a certain way and they seem happy to play the game.
