Trend Spotting With Kim Kardashian: 2009 Hairstyles
I recently blogged about my decision to cut my hair into bangs…
After talking over options with my hairstylist Juaquin Hortal and doing some of my own research, I am ready to offer you the hairstyles that will see you through to 2009!
Katie Holmes, Rihanna and Victoria Beckham have been paving the way for short dos. The latest rave is the “pixie crop,” which is a super short cut with cropped bangs swept to the side. It’s essentially an updated version of Winona Ryder‘s popular ’90s pixie cut. (Remember it from Reality Bites? Classic!)
I confess, if my hair had the ability to grow back to full-length in a week, I would totally test out this bold look. But be prepared to give some serious face time if you decide to go with the pixie crop—or even the popular boy cut. Both dos fully accentuate your facial features.
If you’re not quite ready to cut it all off, but want to try a shorter style, I have a little secret for you: The bob has come back with a bang! Literally!
While Eva Longoria and many others have opted for a bang-less bob, a lot of celebs and models are cutting some fringe to update the always-popular precision cut.
Bangs, in general, are a continuing style that will remain popular well into the new year.
Long or short hair, cutting some bangs is a really easy and fun way to change up your look. Notice how Naomi Campbell wears them well with her long, sleek do (yes, straightened hair is still in!). Taylor Swift‘s fringe is a little longer, with a side part to accompany her mermaid-inspired curls—which will also be big in 2009.
No matter how you decide to wear your hair in the New Year, make sure you have fun with it!

I would never cut my hair short! lol but the side bangs I will consider!

Kim looks pretty wit the bangs. I also thought i couldnt wear bangs, but i found out they work for me also.
I DO NOT LIKE the bangs Kim, You are too beautiful to cover up more than 1/4 of your face. I understand about needing a change but, there are other directions you coulda gone. P.S. I have much love for the Kardashian clan,just my opinion.

Love, Love the bangs or not the bangs you are beautivul reguardless, just don’t ever cut your beautiful long hair, I hate when people tell others to cut there long hair and it’s usually the ones with short hair that say it, so keep that beautiful hair because there is so many hair do’s you can do with long hair plus I love it no matter which way you wear it straight, curled, up or even a ponytail, keep your beautiful hair as long as you can
