Trend Spotting with Kim Kardashian: Street Glam

If you're growing tired of your everyday jeans-and-T-shirt look, I have just the prescription for you: Add a metallic piece to your outfit!

I'm so excited about golds and other metallic materials showing up on the runways, red carpets and the streets. And it's the perfect way to add glam to your daily wear.

Brands and designers like 3.1 Phillip Lim (which I love!), Baby Phat, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs have added pieces with sequins and other shiny elements to their latest collections.

Notice how this adorable gold-sequined mini-dress by Nanette Lapore is dressed down with tights, a knit hat and some fingerless gloves to make the look day-appropriate. You can also see that I added a black tank detail to my strapless gold vintage Thierry Mugler, which makes the look more street-ready.

Another favorite of mine, Herve Leger, is getting into the glam. The reflective square panels on this one-armed, body-hugging number seem to take inspiration from a disco ball—but in a very sophisticated way.
