‘True Grit’ Star Hailee Steinfeld Snubbed By Lea Michele
Fourteen-year-old Hailee Steinfeld, the young lead actress from True Grit, was ignored by Lea Michele on the Paramount lot in Hollywood while auditioning for the now #1 film in the country, nearly making her cry, Steinfeld told J-14 magazine:
“When I was auditioning for True Grit, I was on the Paramount lot,” the Los Angeles native, whose most notable acting credit before Grit was a K-Mart commercial for “blingatude,” said. “I was wearing clothes from the 1800s that were big and uncomfortable. Glee also films on the lot, and I love the show.”
“I saw Lea Michele just walking to her trailer and I was like, ‘That’s the girl from Glee. I’ve got to go ask for her autograph!’ So I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by and a guy came and said, ‘Sorry, now’s not a good time!’ I had to walk all the way back to the car wearing what I was wearing. I was practically crying on the way home.”
Months after the snub, however, Steinfeld is still a fan of the Glee star, she told the magazine: “I was so sad! But she’s beautiful, and she has an amazing voice.”
Reps for Michele haven’t commented on the matter at this time.

What is with the media’s need to paint Lea in a bad light? She’s not the only actress to just not have time to sign an autograph, yet people are so quick to jump in and decide she’s a bi*** or a diva or whatever. Get over it kid!
Hailee wasn’t even that good in True Grit. I think people are more impressed with her age than her actual talent. It was a strong performance but not worthy of people going gaga over her.
