Good news, Twilight fans! Your rabid anticipation for the upcoming vampire flick has already virtually guaranteed a sequel.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Summit Entertainment CEO Rob Friedman "is already talking a Twilight sequel—even though the vampire tween/tween movie isn't set for release until November 21st."
Among the reasons for Friedman's enthusiasm is the fact that the movie's soundtrack, despite not being released until November 4, is already in Amazon's Top 5 Best Selling Albums based on pre-sales. Also nudging the decision is the enthusiasm for Twilight's latest trailer, which logged 3.5 million views less than 48 hours after its online release.
The green icing on the cake may be Twilight's merchandising potential; according to Deadline Hollywood, the flick has the fastest-selling licensed merchandise since the Harry Potter film franchise. (Presumably, this won't include a line of hair-care products endorsed by Twilight star Robert Pattinson).
Looks like Pattinson won't have to resort to busking to make a living after all. The bad news? The world might not be getting as much Spunk Ransom as it can swallow.

As one of the older rabid Twi-hards, I am OVERJOYED to hear that New Moon is moving beyond the 'possibles.' I don't think the fans will let the studio down. Rabid doesn't even BEGIN to describe our obsession with all things Twilight...thanks for continuing to highlight both Twilight & Rob Pattinson.
Edward's hardly in New Moon. I hated most of the book as I dont like the mid section with Bella and Jacob. The end of the book is very good but thats because the writer finally returns to Edward. I hope they flesh out the Italian scenes and show Edward's discussions with the Volturi. Even give him some sub plot because the middle of the book is so repetitive. Pattinson is their leading man so they cant leave him out for most of the film. They'd better not or I;ll be really p'd.
Rob's at #2 on Starmeter at the moment. Thats how popular he's become.
Rob will attend the Austin Film Festival.
He will reportedly make an appearance at the How to Be screening on Saturday October 18th, at the Regal Arbor Cinema in Austin.
I'm so freakin excited Rob's Little Ashes trailer will be released in a few days. whooooooooo
I will be really gutted if they dont big up Rob's part in New Moon. I want to see the main man. Give him lots to do in Italy.
"The world might not be getting as much Spunk Ransom as it can swallow."
Ohhhh, you guys are bad sneaking that in there.
But, I love a good double entendre, especially when it refers to not getting enough of Rob in more ways than one!
Couldnot agree more with wibble.Hate the middle part of new moon because Of Jacob and Bella.LOVE,LOVE Robert .He is the hottest, nicest guy ever.
I cant stand the middle of New Moon. I was really looking forward to reading the book and I coudlnt believe that Meyer ditched Edward and refocused. The Bella/Jacob story isnt compelling whatever they try and brain wash us to believe. I've never come across a Jacob fan yet! If they follow the book too closely the film will be criticised. I can guarantee 100% they will say the film goes flat when Rob isnt on screen. The Italian section is compelling and when I read the book I wanted to know first hand about Edward's adventures there. This needs to be fleshed out in the film.
I hope they wont stick closely to the book. Its epic fa.il in the middle of the book. We want Rob
