Update: E!’s Marc Malkin reports that Grammy officials have given a statement regarding Rihanna’s attendance.

“We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending [tonight's ceremony]. We’re sorry she is unable to join us this evening.”

The report also indicates the Recording Academy has not heard from Chris Brown or his representatives regarding attendance.

Chris Brown is reportedly under investigation for felony battery stemming from an incident that took place after Clive Davis‘ Pre-Grammy party last night.

E! reported during their pre-Grammy telecast that Brown was allegedly involved in an incident in a limousine with an unidentified female early Sunday morning.

The woman in question reportedly called the police claiming that Chris Brown assaulted her, and was said to have visible injuries.

Chris Brown’s girlfriend Rihanna was reportedly not the woman involved.

In other news, E!’s Marc Malkin Twittered that Brown and Rihanna were in a car accident today.

“Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support,” her rep stated.

Speculation says both Rihanna and Brown will not attend the award ceremony tonight. Justin Timberlake will reportedly perform in Brown’s place.

Chris Brown has not been arrested.

Celebuzz has reached out to Chris Brown’s representation and is waiting for comment.
