UPDATE: Debbie Rowe Not Attending Michael Jackson Memorial Service
UPDATE: ET Online reports that Debbie Rowe will not, in fact, be attending the memorial service for Michael Jackson in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday. Whew—crisis averted!
Well, this could get awkward.
Us Magazine reports that Debbie Rowe—Michael Jackson‘s ex-wife and mother to two of his children—will be attending the memorial service for the deceased singer at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday.
“Debbie will attend,” says Mark Schaffel, a former Jackson business associate, says. “We just got confirmation last night from the people who are handling the VIP seats that they do have Debbie’s seats and she will be attending.”
Hopefully, the event’s organizers are seating her at a comfortable distance from the Jackson clan. Rowe is reportedly gearing up for a custody battle for her two sons with Jackson, Prince Michael and Paris, and is even seeking a restraining order against Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson. (In his will, Jackson requested that his mother, Katherine, be granted custody of the children.)
Though Rowe has attempted to contact the family, Schaffel says the efforts have so far been in vain.
“There has been outreach, unfortunately, like so many cases, there’s so much going on that they just have not been able to make contact,” Schaffel notes. “There were several tries, just for the fact of phone numbers that had changed, you know, answering machines that were full. Contact had not been able to happen prior.”
Will the two factions have a showdown as the rest of the world tries to celebrate Jackson’s extraordinary life? Time will tell.

I think that Katherine should get custody of Prince and Paris. Debbie gave up all of her parenting rights to Michael. She even said in an interview that she doesn’t let prince or Paris call her mom. and that she doesn’t want them too.
On the other hand, Katherine Jackson has played a substantial role in all of Michael’s children’s lives. She has been playing the role grandma AND mommy at the same time. Katherine has developed a strong relationship with the children and i think it would be best for everyone if Katherine gets full custody of Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. ‘Blanket’)
