Update: Rihanna Reportedly Tells Cops That Brown Choked, Threatened to Kill Her
UPDATE: A source close to the investigation reveals to E! Online that Rihanna told police Brown choked her into unconsciousness while threatening to kill her.
The mole says an argment between the two got out of hand shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, when Brown pulled his brown Lamborghini to the side of the road in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Rihanna reportedly grabbed Brown's keys and threw them out the car window, which threw Brown into a rage.
After unsuccessfully trying to find the keys, Brown reportedly returned to the car, wrapped his hands around Rihanna's neck and said, "I'm going to kill you!"
The source claims that Rihanna told police that she passed out out at that point, only to find that Brown had fled when she came to.
Rihanna apparently has plenty to say about the reported ugliness that took place between herself and Chris Brown in the early-morning hours on Sunday.
MTV.com reports that the "Disturbia" singer, 20, will be cooperating with the police investigation into Chris Brown's alleged assault on her over the weekend.
Brown, 19,was arrested and charged with one felony count on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, and was released on $50,000 bail.
Reports on the incident, and resulting impact, have varied. One source says that post-incident photos taken by law enforcement offer "devastating proof of abuse" that Rihanna suffered. Meanwhile, the singer's grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, told Barabadian newspaper The Nation that her granddaughter is doing relatively well, all things considered.
"I don't want people to worry, the paper quotes Brathwaite. "Rihanna is fine and she is doing well."
Whatever the case, Rihanna will apparently have plenty of time to answer the cops' questions. The New York Daily News reports that the singer—born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in Saint Michael, Barbados—has postponed a concert in Malaysia scheduled for this weekend, and also put the kibosh on a 21st birthday bash planned for later this month in New York City. (She turns the big 2-1 on February 20.)
