My name is Nohemi, I am 18 years old and I believe that my mom deserves to win the bedroom makeover because she is nothing but the definition of sacrifice. I am the oldest of six children who my mom has worked hard to raise and care for. All my life I have seen my mom sacrifice many things for us, even before we were born she did everything she could to give us the best to her ability. She came to this country at the age of 17 along with my father to give their family a better life. Three years ago when the country wasn’t doing so well, my family lost their home and went bankrupt and we were forced to move in with another family. It took us a year to get somewhat stable once more to be able to rent the house we currently live at. Having a family of eight and living in a three bedroom home, my mom felt the need to sacrifice a bedroom of her own in order to give her children their necessary space. My mom, instead of saying she’s getting her own room, she decided to take the downstairs dinning room/small living area to make it her own space. She has no privacy there because she doesn’t even have any doors just curtains; she has to use the down stairs bathroom as her private bathroom; and worst of all she has no closet of her own, just her drawers and anywhere she can stack her clothes on. As a wonderful mother I believe she deserves the best. She always tells me that people can overcome things in life as long as they try, and she has been one of my greatest motivators when it comes to my dreams and aspirations. Almost four years in high school, I am close to graduating and soon after attending UC Irvine to fulfill my dreams of majoring in Business. Motivated by my mother’s life, I want to one day give back to her as much as she has given me if not more and I believe that winning this contest for her will get me that much closer to giving back to all her sacrifice. I thank you guys for your time when reading this, I love all three of you and I look up to you guys and how string independent woman you guys are. I hope to one day be as successful as you guys have been as business women, God Bless you guys for all you have done.
