Eating greens and fish for a month isn’t starving yourself, neither is a liquid diet. Sure, among the morbidly obese masses of the world these days, a young woman who actually chooses to keep her shape beautiful rather than binge on McRibs or Domino’s XXL pizzas might seem “alien”, but just because some people actually have the self-control to diet doesn’t make them unhealthy.
Ms. Lima claims her liquid diet consists of protein shakes- more than enough to sustain someone and give them sufficient nutrients. Now yes, most people would be too weak to resist the lure of food for a whole week…reaching for that bag of chips after just a few hours of “starvation”, but there’s nothing wrong with liquid diets or fasts- they’ve been done since the beginning of time for religious reasons and no one’s ever died from simply not eating for a few days.
Gluttonous human beings like to think they “need” a lot more food to survive than they actually do. Newsflash, you don’t need three meals a day to survive or be healthy, either, but you’ll convince yourself you do just to have an excuse to eat more.
In short, just because you favor the hamburger to having a nice body, don’t knock people who choose the other option. Yes, since almost everybody is fat now, it’s nice to pick on the few thin chicks leftover and try to guilt them into becoming as fat as you are, but realistically there is nothing wrong with what Ms. Lima says she does, nor is it “shocking”. 7 days on protein shakes? Yes, I really wonder how she hasn’t ended up in the hospital, I mean it’s not like there are as five times as many healthy nutrients in those as there are in your nasty greasy pizza you’re eating right now.
If you don’t have a clue about dieting then why bother commenting? Just because you don’t feel like losing weight yourself so you’re picking on people who do? Sad, sad. You’re the ones who will end up in the hospital with those 80lbs + of extra weight on you and the amount of fat and carbs you consume each day, not the girl who eats greens and veggies and protein shakes, sorry to tell you.
