Finally…. Good for you Scarlett… I myself am currently serving and have been for just over a decade now. I have deployed 5 total times and am honored to defend this nation, it’s people, and those who entertain us. I love the military and respect all branches but it has become ridiculous and I find it appalling at how many Marines have been preying on the celebrities by the whole “hero” and “sacrifice” angle. Yes, people have called me a hero and I get thanked almost every day for my service but I expect none of it because I do what I do because I love it and I make the sacrifice because it is very gratifying knowing that I may have or will make a difference in someone’s life. So please, I thank all of you for serving with me but please, stop preying on these celebrities for 4 or 5 hours of their time just to get your jollies… There are many people out there who would do nearly anything to go on a date with the likes of Charlize Theron, Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, Gerrard Butler, and the likes but no one would get upset if a celebrity told those folks no because those people are “ordinary” people and not “heroes making sacrifices.” Heck, I’d love to play a round of golf with Phil Mickelson but you don’t see me posting a cheeky video on Youtube of my impersonation of Phil’s backflip flop shot that I attempted to pull off in Iraq… Then, immediately following the video asking Phil to join a soldier for a round of golf. The whole Youtube videos of Marines asking celebrities to the ball has gotten old. So, again Scarlett, good for you.
