There needs to be truly scientific investigation into alcoholism and addiction that avoids mythical cliches and police statistics and acknowledges the personal identities of addicts (age/gender/social class) and differences of the substances themselves (stimulants/depressants).
Where is the scientific inquiry?? Name any other disease or mental disorder where the doctor prescribes meetings, confessionals, apologies, and belief in a God.
