Vanessa Minnillo took a day-trip to Salt Lake City, Utah, to chill poolside with shirtless beau, Nick Lachey. The former boy-bander is on a break from his High School Musical: Get In The Picture reality show.

Leaving the unscripted drama behind, Lachey soaks up the mellow companionability of a tipsy, bikini-clad Vanessa—only an arm's reach away. If only he could stay awake for it.

Maybe Minnillo's "disastrous" role in this upcoming flick is the reason she wanted to coil up next to her hot body boyfriend, but settled for unwinding with a tall, cool one.

Shirtless Nick, 34, has been busy filming the reality show High School Musical: Get in the Picture. Finalists from show compete to star in a music video which will air during the credits of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The show premieres July 20 on ABC, the movie will drop October 24.

Nick has said, “Going into this project, I really wanted to be a little bit of a mentor to them. Obviously these kids are all here eyes wide open. It’s a great opportunity for them and I just try to tell them to relax and have fun, be themselves. I think they’re all talented.””
