VIDEO: Alexander Skarsgård Says 'Twilight' Vampires Are "Cute"

Things are heating up in the battle of the on-screen vampires.

TMZ cameras caught True Blood's super-sexy, but super-evil, Alexander Skarsgård at the airport and grilled him about his crazy fans and those other famous vamps.

When asked if he ever encounters women who want him to bite them, Skarsgard answers nonchalantly, "Yeah, that has happened a few times." At least he's honest. (And looks to be slightly happy about it?)

But here's where things get good. His thoughts on the Twilight blood-suckers, played by actors like Rob Pattinson and Kellan Lutz?

"I think they're cute....they're adorable."

As you may recall, True Blood's Stephen Moyer recently called RPattz's character the "Slim-Fast, Diet Coke" of vampires. Is Skarsgard also diminishing the fright potential of Twilight's vamps by dismissing them as "cute"?

i agree with Alex with the Cute & Adorable Bit... most of them are portraying beautiful teenagers (not scary looking) Vampires... they are not hardcore Bad Vampires (so yes they are cute)
oh AND... Alex is HOT!!!

Obviously Twilight 'vamps' can't be named other than cute, without fangs and sparkling at the sunshine.... Alex just said the facts...

not a true blood fan or really a twilight fan but i love cam gigandet who played james in twilight, so i'd go twilight just for him (stupid maybe honest yes) but the "vampires" in twilight are not true vampires, sparkle in sunlight no, they may be called vamps but they are not.

true blood is the best show on television hands down. compared to twilight, it's got more action, excitement, and overall is just more entertaining to watch. Twilight you just fall in love with because the books are hands down the most exciting books to read. true blood and twilight are different in so many ways yet both are completely awesome. you can't really say one is better than the other...i loveee love love edward cullen, but vampire bill gets my blood flowing too.

For those of you who may not know this, Alexander and Kellan Lutz are friends as a result of starring in the HBO Miniseries Generation Kill (2008) so he more than likely meant what he said in the TMZ Video ;)

He is right the stars of Twilight are all cute. That is because it was made for teen audiences. True Blood is for adults therefore having adults stars.

Twilight is indeed a vampire story for teens, it has little maturity. And at the risk of repeating the other good points made here, vampires who sparkle prettily in the sunshine are not just cute, but lame. There is an edge to the vampires in True Blood that Twilight does not, and cannot have, given its target audience. Vampires that sparkle vs vampires like Eric who tear victims limb form limb, or vampires that combine sex and biting? No. contest.:)
