VIDEO: Balloon Boy Admits Hoax? “We Did This for the Show”

Falcon Heene—aka Balloon Boy, who had the nation on pins and needles on Thursday—may have let slip that things aren’t quite on the up-and-up with his story during an appearance on Larry King Live yesterday.

Appearing with his family—whose other TV stints include the reality series Wife Swap—the six-year-old Colorado boy was asked by his father Richard Heene why he didn’t come out of the attic when he heard him calling.

At which point Falcon replied, “Um…you guys said we did this for the show.”

Since the Larry King Live appearance, Richard Heene has adamantly denied that Thursday’s incident—during which Falcon was thought to be flying high above Colorado in a home-made weather balloon, only to be found in his family’s garage attic—was a hoax. Appearing on the Today show on Friday, he told NBC’s Meredith Vieira that he was “starting to get a little ticked off” about the accusations.

Check out the video and decide for yourself: Did Falcon inadvertently let the cat out of the bag, or is there another explanation for his statement? And don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments section!
