Enjoying a surprise victory at the Emmys last year, Katherine Heigl pulled her name from Emmy consideration this year. However, the Grey's Anatomy actress did not do so out of selflessness.

"I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination," confided Heigl to the The Envelope, "and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention."

Heigl underscored her casual disrespect for the very people who have turned her into a marketable blonde on the scope of Jessica Simpson with a video interview on her way to lunch in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

This clip seems to confirm the rumor that the actress is the most self-inflated pain in the ass in Hollywood looking to leave her TV gig to focus on movie roles.

Variety now reports Heigl is set to star in the film adaptation of the memoirs of a woman who escaped a polygamist cult.

In the past, Heigl has complained loudly about the roles that have made her both a film and television success.

In a Vanity Fair interview, she said her comedy Knocked Up "paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as goofy, fun-loving guys."

She then proved her point by starring in a series of stereotypical romantic comedies.

Maybe this new role will help Heigl to become the Charlize Theron she believes that she is.

At least one miffed coworker has taken the battle to Entertainment Weekly.

“The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticizes the show for lack of material?" the insider confided to EW. "It's an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place.”
