VIDEO: Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift Ring in 2009 Peacefully
Apparently it's true; music really does tame the savage breast!
Despite the awkward break-up between Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas last year, both Swift and the Jonas Brothers performed at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2009 on Wednesday. Somehow they managed to not transform New York's Times Square into a fiery wasteland of personal rancor. In fact, they both managed to put on ripping performances.
The JoBros tore through "Burnin' Up" and "Tonight" from their album A Little Bit Longer. Swift, meanwhile, graced the assembled audience with four songs from her hit album Fearless—"Picture to Burn," "Love Story," "Forever and Always" and "Change."
Well, okay; maybe Swift was sending a not-so-subtle message to her ex with her choice of songs, but be fair; at least the 19-year-old managed not to kiss Joe's current gal, 10,000 B.C. actress Camilla Belle, with her fist come the stroke of midnight.
Check out videos of their performances below:
Sigh; someone should really pack these kids up and send them to the Middle East. They could really teach the folks over there a thing or two about setting aside their differences and working for the common good.
