VIDEO: Kanye West Experiences a 'South Park' Conversion
Has Kanye West seen the light? Or at least learned to lighten up a little?
The 808s & Heartbreak rapper, who's been known to take himself a wee bit too seriously at times, was lampooned for his self-important attitude on last night's South Park.
The plot involved West's inability to get the best joke ever. Kanye just couldn't understand why people kept cracking up when he told them, "I like to put fish sticks in my mouth." (For the humor impaired, say it out loud.)
In the episode, West finally came to his senses, with hilarious results, as exhibited in the clip below:
And today, West took to his blog, as he's wont to do. Not in anger, but—shockingly—in understanding.
"SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT'S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK!" the post begins.
And then, the shocker.
"I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH," West continues. "HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER."
"I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM," he adds. "I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SH*T WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I'M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I'M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE."
Wow. And in all caps, too, so you KNOW he means it. Nothing fishy here.
Is Kanye's gal-pal Amber Rose helping him to mellow out? Whatever the reason, it's nice to know that Kanye West finally gets the joke.
Is a group hug in order?
