Kristen Stewart has gone Southern, y’all!
Check out this trailer for Stewart’s movie The Yellow Handkerchief, which co-stars William Hurt and Maria Bello. The film—which follows three strangers on a road trip through Louisiana—is due to debut on pay-TV channel Epix in either 2010 or 2011.
In the meantime, take a look at the trailer and share your thoughts in the comments section: Is K-Stew’s accent convincing?

I LOVE KRISTEN STEWART SOOOO MUCH BUT THIS IS THE WORST ACTING FROM HER EVER ,iTS SOOO MEDIOCRE ,SCHOOL PLAYISH , THE ACCENT IS JUST NOT COMING OUT , AND ITS SAD CAUSE I KNOW SHE MUST HAVE REALLY TRIED , BUT IT SOUNDS SOOOOOOOOOOO LAME , AND AT TIMES HER NORMAL VOICE KICKS IN :(((( SORRY K STEW . P.S FOR ME PERSONALLY SHE WILL HAVE TO DO A WHOLE LOAD OF MOVIES BEFORE I PICTURE HER AS SOMEONE BUT NOT BELLA
Can’t wait to watch this movie.
She’s so talented. I’ve watched all of
her others movies and.. WOW !
I really enjoy seeing her playing another
character than Bella. LOVE HER.
SHE’S WONDERFUL. And i’m sure she’s
gonna get an Oscar someday.
TEAM KRISTEN ALL THE WAY.
Mmm think I’ll have to pass on this one.
I actually thought the accent wasn’t all that bad! I don’t mind Kristen Stewart, but when I read she was going to have a southern accent for whatever reason I was preparing myself for the worst. I found it pretty convincing. Not sure how great the movie as a whole will be, but this chick is growing on me so I might check it out!
good actress
bad bella
She nailed it, she can play any character, very talented.
I love Kristen’s hair in this movie, she’s so talented, i wonna see this movie now and Willian Hurt is one of the most talented actors in HW.
im really impressed with Kristen’s accent in this film
Im really liking this!
Im from the UK so I cant really judge the accent, but it sounds good to me
I had no real interest in this at first but after watching the trailer this is a film I want to see and Kristens looking so pretty in this film
very bad bella!
it sounds ok i guess but i sort of reminds me of laura’s accent from antm
KRISTEN is talented…that’s it +_+
Accent, not so good
Maria Bello is a great actress. Kristen has worked with a lot of other talented peole.
Oh gosh, i wish i was Kristen, just look at the hot guys she’s had to kiss in her movies. She’s so smart and a real actress. Can’t wait to see this one.
I think this is actually a pretty good accent. This may have been the best acting I have ever seen her do. Maybe
I’m from the South. Born and raised there…TRUST ME…her accent is TERRIBLE!! Disgustingly bad!
* hmm..I dnt know what to think of this–but I hate her still !!* lolz =}
* well…she’s no sydsouth– anyways her accent sounds fake in some instances!!!*
Better than my fake Southern accent.
snore
The accent was truly bad and the acting was pretty bad too. I think she’s going to get better and better though, she’s going to be getting bigger and better parts after all of Twilight.
looks prety boring!
I’m impressed with the Kstew accent! :)
she’s great! but I can see a little bella in some scenes! :)
however I love her! :)))
This is good. When did she film this? ;)
Hey, Starstruck… perhaps if you post another comment in all caps, and maybe add a few dozen exclamation points, we’ll all be thoroughly convinced of the validity of your remarks.
Or perhaps you should undo the caps lock and take a remedial class in grammar and punctuation, then some film crit.
OK, I’ll start by admitting that there is probably 0% chance I will ever watch this movie. It just doesn’t look like my kind of flick. Furthermore, I couldn’t give less of a crap about ‘Twilight’. So I have no vested interest in Kristen Stewart. But I’ll just say this, as a died-in-the-wool southerner and a Georgia boy, born and bred. For the 10 or 15 seconds that Kristen was in that trailer, I didn’t think her accent was bad or unconvincing. For those who don’t come from the South, here’s a little news flash… not everybody from our part of the country talks like they were rejects from “Hee-Haw”. I get so sick of the California Hollywood actor types thinking that all they have to is exaggerate their draw when they talk, use a lot of twang, and act like some semi-retarded inbred idiot, and assume that people will consider their portrayals of Southern characters as convinving and inspired. I’m not saying we don’t have some of those types down here, but they are far from the majority. After all, not every body from New York and New Jersey acts like those brainless rejects from “Jersey Shore”.
There, I’ve said my piece.
