One '80s musical icon honored another on Saturday night, as Madonna paid tribute to recently deceased King of Pop Michael Jackson during her July 4 concert at O2 Arena in London. (Jackson was due to begin a string of concerts at the same venue on July 13.)
During a performance of "Holiday," a Michael Jackson impersonator emerged onstage and an image of Jackson was projected in the background. At which point the impersonator began to moonwalk to Jackson's hit "Wanna Be Starting Something."
"Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known," Madonna declared as she and her dancers donned sequined gloves—a Jackson trademark—and performed their last dance.
