Passion of the Christ director Mel Gibson confirmed the rumors that his mistress, Oksana Grigorieva, is pregnant on Monday’s Tonight Show, even making light of the situation, People magazine reports.

During his 21st guest appearance on the program, Gibson, who’s currently engaged in potentially very expensive divorce proceedings with his wife Robyn, met host Jay Leno‘s comedic jabs with a few zingers of his own.

When Leno asked of Grigorieva, “What, is she 17? 18?” Gibson, 53, responds that she’s almost 40 and added, “now I am going to have two women mad at me!”

Gibson went on to admit that he and Grigorieva are expecting, noting, “This is true. We’re gonna have a child.”

Leno then asked Gibson, who already has seven children with estranged wife Robyn, “So that will make 29?” The actor shot back, “Well, actually eight. I guess I’m Octo-Mel.”

Haw, haw!

Gibson did, however, take full responsibility for the dissolution of his marriage.

“When it’s all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself,” he admitted. “I’m to blame. If you’re inclined to judge, put it here.”

Done and done, sir.

Jay Leno has a special place in his heart for steam power. The comedian has a collection of vintage vehicles that have more in common with a classic train than a modern car, and of those, his 1906 Stanley Steamer seems to be one of his favorites.
