VIDEO: Miley Cyrus Finds Room in Mouth for Other Foot, Calls Twilight a “Cult”
It’s official: Miley Cyrus has a death wish.
That’s the only way we can explain her interview earlier this week with Sirius XM’s Morning Mash Up, during which the Hannah Montana star took yet another shot at the Twilight saga, this time comparing its fans to brainwashed cult members.
Proclaimed Miley,
“I think it’s like [a] cult…I think it’s a cult. I think it’s bad. I think it’s like, just people get too into it. or me, I think it’s like when guys look at supermodels and they’re like, ‘That’s the perfect girl,’ … That’s what those kind of movies do to us. They’re like thinking that’s what girls should be like and not everyone is going to be Edward, hate to say it.”
Does Miley have a point? Maybe. But to be fair to the Twi-hards, at least they don’t eat their pets when they get upset. We think.
And to be fair to Miley, at least she’s found a more wholesome way of gaining attention for herself than concocting age-inappropriate dance routines. Maybe she can outrage the world next by explaining how Santa Claus is really a big fat Commie who sets kids up with false expectations by giving them free stuff.

Look, I’m a fan of Twilight, but I can admit that it’s not the best written, that the movie wasn’t the greatest, and that these characters aren’t real. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy immersing myself into the story (or collecting memoribilia…). I’m an intelligent person that has not been ‘brain-washed’.

I’m pretty sure she’s looking at it in the Christian perspective. Christian’s do not believe in eternal life in this world, we believe in eternal life in Heaven. I do like the Twilight movies and I understand that they are movies- some people (teens) have trouble seperating reality from fiction. I think that is why Miley chose the word, “cult.” I think it’s just a phase kids go through. When I was a kid I loved Aaron Carter. When I hit about 14, I was completely over it. I can even recall watching Marykate & Ashley movies a hundred times over. Once we get older we understand that our lives shouldn’t revolve around Hannah Montana or Britney Spears.
