VIDEO: Miley Cyrus Has Never Listened to Jay-Z

Miley Cyrus has a confession to make—her hit single "Party in the U.S.A." isn't nearly as autobiographical as it may seem.

In the song, the Hannah Montana star famously sings about how her homesickness and tension are alleviated when a Jay-Z song comes on the radio.

However, as it turns out—and you'd better sit down for this—such a scenario never occurred.

During a recent interview in Louisville, Kentucky, a reporter asked her which Jay-Z song had inspired the lyric, and Cyrus confessed,

"I don't know, I didn't write the song, so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn't write it [and] I didn't expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best...I've never heard a Jay-Z song. I don't listen to pop music. ['Party in the U.S.A.'] is not even my style of music."

Well, you have to at least give her points for honesty. But what's next? Will she now tell us that she's never actually engaged in a hoedown throwdown?

Funny how she admits that in my city. My neighbor went to her concert too. Pssh. She should listen to pop, that is her genre.

Miley is going to do more country for her next album. That's what she said. Her recent EP wasn't her style of music and it was just to promote her clothing line. That's what she means about "I don't listen to pop music. ['Party in the U.S.A.'] is not even my style of music."

are you kidding me? miley didn't write "party in the usa"? im so surprised because it sounds like something she would've written about. but then again her dad has helped her out since she started 'hannah montana" and wrote most of her songs for her so i'm kinda not surprised now i guess? but if she didn't write it..who did? her dad?

Miley only co-wrote two songs on her EP.

Huh...she does know that Britney Spears is a pop singer?
So technically she DOES listen to some pop music.
