Ed Sheeran Talks Holiday Plans, Pop Music’s British Invasion (VIDEO)
Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran says he’ll be spending the holidays with his closest loved ones this year.
“[I'll be] with my parents for a bit of it, and then with my friends for another bit of it,” he told Celebuzz Friday night at Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York City.
But that’s not all.
Sheeran, who last week received a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year (“The A Team”), added he’ll also be spending a bit of time with another friend: alcohol.
“We’re British. That’s what we do, yes,” he quipped.
Sheeran is part of a new British invasion currently dominating the music charts in America. The 21-year-old, who has written multiple songs for One Direction and Taylor Swift, credits Adele for making his Stateside success possible.
“I think Adele has definitely helped a lot. There’s always one person [who] smashes down the floodgate, and then we all just come in,” he said.
