“I Used Bad Judgement”: James Franco Addresses His Instagram Snafu

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael Friday morning, Franco copped to the text messages. “I’m embarrassed. I guess I’m just a model about how social media is tricky,” he admit. “It’s a way people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned is you don’t know who’s on the other end. I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson.”
Franco then went on to bemoan the evils of life in the public eye: “Unfortunately in my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but if I do that, then it gets published for the world so it’s doubly embarrassing.”
For the optimists out there, there is one piece of good news in all this, which is that Franco’s admission and apology means the whole thing wasn’t just viral marketing for Franco’s new movie, in which his character seduces a 14 year old. So at least some things aren’t a hoax.
