VIDEO: Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Fit New York to a 'T'

With Katie Holmes' runaway smash stint in the Broadway production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons, she and husband Tom Cruise (along with little Suri) have pretty much become honorary New Yorkers.

So it is fair and right that the New York Times should fete the high-profile semi-transplants with the cover of T, the Times style magazine.

The December 7 edition of T features TomKat captured in startling black-and-white photos.  But Holmes, 29, and Cruise, 46, do more than just look pretty for the camera.  They also spill the goods on their relationship, and life in the spotlight.

Holmes on her public image: "There's a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn't have any control of her life. And that's pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I've made choices in my life that have been very strong."

Holmes, on her first impression of her future husband: "When I met Tom I was completely in love and, yes, I admired him growing up – he’s Tom Cruise! …[w]hen I met him, he was so warm and I thought, Wow! You can be a superstar and a human being. He made me feel so amazing."

Cruise, on knowing Katie was "the one": "I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her. After our very first date, I was sure. At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I cut her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her."

Holmes, on the celebrity gossip mill: "I'm a mom and an actress with a play to do every night. I can't pay attention to all that noise."

Just one more question: why wasn't Tom and Katie's two-year-old bundle of cute, Suri, allowed to get her two cents in? If the Times is smart, they'll realize that they just might have their next great restaurant critic on their hands.
