Kate is absolutely positively 100% right in this situation. They are HER children… Jon should not have the right to leave them with whoever he feels like…. First of all, he has not proven himself to make best judgements in general about anything in his life. . Why is he leaving the kids anyway on his time to have custody??? DISGRACEFUL. Missy, obvisiously you’ve never been divorced. Jon and Kate came up with this “custody” arragement until the courts make a final decision. NOTHING is legally set in stone. As for “sharing” the house, no lawyer or judge will ultimately approve of this. They are doing this until all is said and done. It’s more of an upset to the kids doing this, so ultimately ONE of them will reside in the home with primary custody and the other will get visitation rights as well as pay child support.

As for “making a mockery of our faith”, why do you need to bring God into this?? When has SHE spoken negatively about God??

And frankly, for a million bucks, you’d be suprised at what you would do. We all would.

I think Whoopi is a bit off base. Many custody agreements do specify that when the custodial parent is not able to be present that the other parent gets first chance before anyone else watches the kids. If he could not be there, she should have been allowed. Granted, I don’t know what is in their custody arrangements, but having worked with Domestic Law in the past, this type of arrangement is not uncommon (and quite frankly, when the other parent doesn’t contact the other one, the other parent usually finds out and gets very angry.)

She has really no idea who is with her kids nor does she really care as long as she gets to live her dream of being a TV reality star. Any custody agreement should have the clause of first right of refusal–meaning that should the parent that has custody time want to be away from the child/children for their own plans or whatever, the other parent gets FIRST right to refuse. SO the other parent has to be asked if they would like to have that time with the kids, if not then the custodial parent can hire someone or have someone else look after the children. My personal take on both of these people is that they are idiots-but this is what everyone I know who is divorced with children has done. Makes sense in a way because why shouldn’t the other parent get the choice of that time with the kids?? Don’t they just each have a week–so another question would be shouldn’t Jon spend all of his time with the kids actually with the kids?? It isn’t as if he doesn’t have Half of all of his time free to himself, is it?? I’ve only rarely watched the show and certainly not going to watch it now. How can these children ever hope to live a ‘normal’ life?? At the moment they do not know realize that they are being robbed of their childhood.. by people who don’t have their best interests at heart..

Millie, Please spare me! I am a single mother of SIX kids and I work a 9-5 job. We don’t have a lot but we have what we need and guess what? I earned every penny of it working my butt off, something Kate knows NOTHING about. We get to take a vacation every year because guess what? We save a little and budget the rest. Everyday people can and DO make it work EVERY SINGLE DAY! I have NO pity or respect for someone like Kate, she needs to grow up and REALLY learn what it is like to raise a family. No nanny, no clothes shopping every other day and most importantly NO camera’s to “catch” me “playing” at being a mom.

Jon Gosselin hired a babysitter to watch his children on his custody day, I believe this is wrong and he should lose his custody day. If the Biological Parent whose day with the kids it is does not want to watch the children, given the choice between a babysitter or the parent, the other parent should be able to watch and spend time with the children.

I feel if you have a visitation day, if you hire someone to watch your children, your children are not your priority and if the other parent wants the childrren, he or she should get them over a babysitter. and also if you dont spend that time with the children while the other parent is willing to dedicate that time to them, then you should lose your visitation days..

But I wonder what a Family Court Judge would think is right? Does anybody here know how family law works in this situation? Sometimes the laws work out funny and the children end up getting the short end of the stick. In this case if a Family Court Judge allowed the dad to hire a sitter instead of himself being with the children, he should lose his days.

I loved this show I got soem great tips with my 4 kids. It is absolutely heart wrenching to see this family torn apart. I think both parents need to stop and really think about how all this publicity will affect their relationship with thier children in the future. those kids grow up and they wlll have opinions that will hurt the heck out of both of them. their decsions have created quite a messy situation, I hope they save their money for now and just get out of the spotlight.
