Viewers Want Their MTV, Not Their ‘Entourage’

Things just haven’t been going well for Adrian Grenier lately. Making matters worse is the fact that poor Ade can’t find a decent friend to turn to in these trying days.
The latest season of Entourage premiered Sunday night, and the ratings numbers weren’t stellar.
Only 1.6 million people tuned in to see the latest installment of the HBO series. That’s about 27% less viewership than the 2007 season, and the show’s lowest turnout since 2005.
On the flip side, Sunday’s MTV VMAs had about 4.2 million viewers, and was the highest turnout for the awards program since 2005.
Never underestimate the public’s desire for a Britney Spears comeback, Adrian. Or its apparent desire for Russell Brand‘s hair.

Everyone is rooting for Brit Brit. Adrian? Not so much.
Hey, Adrian, I know a way you and Jeremy could boost the ratings of the show together…at least for 10 minutes. Well, probably more like two.
Just heard the Entourage Season premiere was down 27% from last season. Entourage was probably hurt by the year long absence from HBO. Last Season, they were only off the air for a few weeks in between. They ended Season 3B in April, if I remember correctly, and Season 4 started in June. It is really unfair to compare the two premieres. Also, how many people now either TIVO or Record their show, like our own Mark admitted? (tee hee) How do they measure that number into it? If they want to really measure Entourage’s success, they need to measure hits on Entourage fan blogs. I doubt they will find many “successful” shows that have as many loyal followers.
Sorry, just venting!
