Was Taylor Momsen Gonna Be a Runaway?

Did Dakota Fanning beat out Taylor Momsen for a plum—or perhaps Cherie—role?

A copy of Momsen's recording contract with Interscope Records obtained by TMZ seems to indicate as much.

The contract, dated March 17, 2009, stipulates that, if Momsen takes any acting roles with "musical elements," she must surrender 10 percent of her acting fee to the record company.

But there are two exceptions to that clause in the contract—her TV show Gossip Girl and a then-upcoming "Runaways Project."

Hmm; now what "Runaways Project" could that possibly have been referring to?

The most logical role in the film for Momsen would have been Runaways singer Cherie Currie, a part that was eventually snagged up by Fanning.

I have to disagree. To me, Taylor's just a poser. She dresses all rock-star-ish...but I just don't think she has it in her. Dakota is a WONDERFUL actress, she can get into characters so easily, and, let's face it, Momsen isn't that talented...

Taylor Momsen is a talentless, 16 year old misguided child. Trust me, there is not a 16 year old on this planet who "knows" rock and roll. "Rockstar" ? First of all it's TWO words - rock star. Lastly she is not one.

Uhm. This couldn't have happened even if they'd cast Taylor and she REALLY wanted it.
Taylor has a contract with Gossip Girl. They clash bigtime in the filming department. If she was considered at one point for this role, it was more than likely Taylor that had to back out.
And how do some of you know Taylor is just a poser? Oh let me guess, you read it. You make judgement calls on hear say without really knowing anything about her. Very smart.
I totally disagree. Shes extremely talented. Amaging singer and actor.
I'm not saying Kristen and Dakota won't be good or even great, but don't jump the gun and beleive something that has no actual concrete proof of being true. Its based entirely on TMZ jumping to conclusions. For all we know, Taylor could have put it in there hoping there was a way she might could do this movie. Theres no upcoming song of hers thats going to be on Gossip Girl yet she put that in there too. Just saying.

I think Taylor LOOKS more like Cherie than Dakota does, but Dakota beats her by a million miles in the acting department.

Taylor Momsen...I forgot she was and actress, no, a model, no a "Rock Star"....I think not...she needs to sit down and recover from her jaded behavior. It will be great to see Dakota in this role. Although, I don't care for the Twilight series or movie.
