Will Heath Ledger Be Resurrected for Next 'Batman' Movie?

Will Heath Ledger Be Resurrected for Next 'Batman' Movie?-photo

Nearly three years after his death, Heath Ledger might just log some more screen time yet.

Christopher Nolan, who's currently gearing up to direct the upcoming Batman flick The Dark Knight Rises, is reportedly considering using previously unseen footage of Ledger as The Joker from his portrayal in 2008's The Dark Knight in the new project. According to a source,

"The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time. Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker...It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath's family."

Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 28 in January 2008, shortly after completing work on The Dark Knight. He was awarded a posthumous Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for the role the following year.

Do you think it would be a wise idea to include footage of Ledger in The Dark Knight Rises? Check him out in this clip from The Dark Knight below and let us know in the comments section.

Nolan said YESTERDAY that Ledger is NOT in TDKR in any way, shape, or form. The Joker is part of TDk and that's it. Wow. What a f*cking site. Just throw sh*t against a wall and see what sticks. God love the internet.

He was an incredible actor! and sadly all the good ones die in tragic circumstances! But at least he is acknowledged for his acting talents!

So instead of taking something out one any of the interviews Nolan has done within the last few months you chose to quote something from January? First of all, Heath Ledger was properly honored with an Oscar. Considering that Nolan has never used CGI characters in his movies and he has come out to say that the Joker will NOT be in the movie I have a hard time this premature rumor from JANUARY holds any truth in it. Get your facts straight.

Heath Ledger was pure genius in the Dark Knight and although I would love to see him in the next one,I think that he should not be honored in a way that seems like he's being used from the grave. But with that being said,His family should have the last say in a tough decision as that one.Don't do it for the money and destroy his legacy.
