‘Wolverine’ Shreds The Box Office

So there’s this new movie called Wolverine…and it’s kind of a big deal.

The fourth X-Men flick, featuring a huge and hunky Hugh Jackman, hauled in $87 million this weekend ($160 worldwide) to make it the year’s biggest box office opening so far. The film made $35 million on opening day.

Coming in at second place was Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, a romantic comedy featuring Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey. The film raked in $15.3 million, and MTV is reporting that exit polls suggest that the 70% female audience were wives and girlfriends of the men who saw Wolverine
