Zac Efron and Claire Danes Meet Orson Welles

Sep 9, 2008 at 10:19am

Zac Efron and Claire Danes appeared at the premiere for director Richard Linklater‘s Me and Orson Welles at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday evening.

The two looked resplendent—Efron in a serious brown suit, and Danes lovely in midnight blue.

Busy actor Efron stars as a teenager in 1937 hired to appear in Orson Welles‘ production of Julius Caesar, where he falls in love with a production assistant played by Danes.

This is fancy lad Efron’s first appearance in a more serious type of role.

He memorably co-starred in the 2007 film adaption of the Broadway musical Hairspray.

He wore a greasy pompadour in that John Waters extravaganza, and did a lot of dancing and singing.

Now he’s playing with the big boys. That wasn’t a fat joke about Orson.

Claire Danes
For Danes, Hasty honor is a hoot
And Claire Danes, the Pudding’s 2012 Woman of the Year, certainly was today. The actress was paraded through the streets of Cambridge this afternoon flanked by members of the smart-aleck student group known for its bawdy humor and cheeky getups.
