Zac Efron to Get ‘Footloose’

Star reports that High School Musical tween heart-flutterer Zac Efron recently confirmed that a remake of the classic ’80s dance flick Footloose is in the works.
And guess who’s starring in it? Hint: he reportedly wants to show off his goods on Broadway.
This could be bordering on sacrilege…or it could be brilliant.
“Footloose is coming together actually,” says Zac, who is Ashley Tisdale‘s major turn-off. “We’re trying to figure out the right way to do it, and it seems like it’s going to happen.”
Has Kevin Bacon been informed? He needs to step in and assess the situation before the camera is even turned on.
Hopefully Lori Singer turns down a small cameo, even though she needs the work.
Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars should be strongly considered for the female star in the Footloose remake.
