The Emmy-winning comedy will now air on Thursdays at 9PM, following The X Factor, in September. Then at midseason, Glee will be reunited with its former lead-in, American Idol.
The move was announced early Monday morning, when FOX debuted its official 2012-2013 schedule. Among the other highlights: A new show from Office star Mindy Kaling, aptly titled The Mindy Project, which will air Tuesdays at 9:30PM, after the hit comedy New Girl.
Meanwhile, in other Glee news (because there’s never enough Glee news, right?), FOX confirmed Monday that actresses Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker will guest next season. Hudson has signed on for a six-episode arc, according to network president Kevin Reilly (via Deadline), while SJP will appear in multiple episodes. Further details on their respective characters were not released.
Glee — which last week crowned Rachel and Finn as Prom King and Queen — returns with a two-hour episode on Tuesday, and will feature the long-awaited guest appearance by troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan.
