Chris Brown is slowly but surely making his comeback.

The hip hop singer, 23, has released his new music video for this track, “Don’t Wake Me Up”.

The Inception-inspired video features Brown running through multiple terrains — including a forest and a desert — before driving off a cliff during a high speed car chase.

Though the video is jammed pack with action, the track itself is quite tame in comparison to his most recent and controversial works.

In May, Brown played off of Kanye West‘s track “Theraflu” and instead of declarations of love — like that West did with girlfriend Kim Kardashian — the singer bashed an ex-girlfriend in his lyrics.

In the profanity-ridden track, he rapped:

“Don’t f*** with my old b*****s … like a bad fur … every industry n***** done had her. … Trick or treat like a pumpkin … just to smash her.”

Though the singer never confirmed who the lyrics were directed at, many fans assumed Brown was rapping about former flame Rihanna — who he was charged with brutally beating the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

Needless to say, the lyrics weren’t so well received, leading Chris to tweet: “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense [sic] to it then its something you feel guilty about.”

Following the track’s release, Rihanna, 24, unfollowed Brown on Twitter.
