With the DWTS hoofers reportedly guaranteed $125,000 for the first two weeks, the Loveline with Dr. Drew co-host — who had been partnered with Lacey Schwimmer during his original run — tells Celebuzz: “I don’t want to go back, but if they pay me, yes. Money is a huge motivator.”
Either way, Catherwood is heading back to reality TV, vying to find love on FOX’s dating show, The Choice.
What’s the show all about?
Hosted by Cat Deeley, The Choice will follow celebrity bachelors and bachelorettes as they compete for the hearts of attractive singles. But it’s the ultimate blind date: the celebs can’t see their possible suitors, a la The Voice. Catherwood says he decided to appear on the show because he doesn’t have much time to woo a woman.
“My lifestyle doesn’t really suit a nice girl, so I was looking for a girl that would please me, without having to pay much attention to her,” he joked to us. “That’s really what I need at this point in my life… a girl who is liberal morally, and promiscuous and doesn’t need much in the area of romance.”
“And a TV dating show is probably the best place to find a girl like that.”
What did the women have to do to get his attention?
“They are selling themselves in twenty seconds,” says Catherwood, who’s nicknamed “Psycho Mike.” “I’m a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, so they needed to tell me they liked to read.”
“The guys got along really well. Joe Jonas and I were besties by the end of the show. We were all really uncomfortable and in this awkward position, so we all relied on each other.”
