This weekend, Tyler Perry brings the hot-tempered, fast-talking Madea back to the big screen in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection.
The film, about a family who hides out at Madea’s home amid after they get roped into a Wall Street Ponzi scheme, is the latest chapter in the ongoing Madea saga.
It’s also the latest chance to see Perry dress up in drag, a stunt that has become somewhat of a staple in Hollywood through the years.
Indeed, everyone from Eddie Murphy, to John Travolta have taken on gender-bending roles in their career, to various levels of success.
Will Madea’s Witness Protection be another box-office knockout for Perry? We’ll know when the numbers arrive on Sunday.
In the meantime, Celebuzz has pulled together some of the many celebrities who have dressed up in drag. Check them out in our gallery, above!
Celebuzz was also on the scene at the New York premiere of Madea’s Witness Protection on Monday, during which we spoke to Perry about whether or not he’d ever cast friend Oprah Winfrey in one of his movies.
“It’s gotta be the right film,” Perry, 42, said.
“I’m not asking Oprah to do anything unless it’s absolutely, 100 percent right,” he added.
Your move, Oprah!
Madea’s Witness Protection, which co-stars Denise Richards and Eugene Levy, is now playing in theaters nationwide.
Oh, and in case you missed it: Tyler Perry wasn’t the only male celebrity to dress up in drag this week.
