In a pre-taped interview, Harrison sits down with Emily to recap the season’s most talked about moments including Kalon‘s dramatic exit, Ryan’s arrogance, Travis‘ creepy ostrich egg and Arie‘s sneaky little brothers.
In case you missed it, here are the 5 best moments from the episode.
1. Ryan: The Next Bachelor?
During the show, Ryan revealed he is still open to becoming the next Bachelor, a desire that he made more than clear during his time on the show.
He says that his thinking all along was, “If I’m there at the end, worst-case scenario is that maybe I have an opportunity to meet 25 ladies that would be a great fit for me.”
Harrison tried to downplay the arrogance, reassuring the audience that it’s never going to happen. “I want to speak for ABC and just put everybody’s minds at ease – not going to happen,” he said.
2. Emily Rips into Kalon
Emily Maynard may be sweet, but she’s not willing to let anyone talk badly about her 6-year-old daughter. Speaking about Kalon, who referred to her daughter Ricki as “baggage,” she told Chris Harrison: “I’ve always prided myself on being a good judge of character. I didn’t know what was wrong with me that I let someone like that through the cracks.”
Kalon makes an attempt at an apology, but Emily didn’t buy it. “You, my dear, should be a politician because that is the biggest load of sh** I’ve ever heard.”
“The true sign of class and character is to go back and say, ‘I’m really sorry I did that. I just hope that you find faith in something bigger than your Prada shoes and your rented helicopter.” Ouch! (After filming, Kalon had plenty to say about his time on the show, admitting to Celebuzzhe’s “bitter” about his bad boy portrayal.)
3. Sean Still Loves Emily
Sean gets emotional as he watches Emily break up with him in a flashback clip.
He’s not bitter though.
“I truly did believe that she was my wife. … I was thinking about being a father and being a husband,” he says. “She is an amazing person and that’s not going to fade overnight. I wish it would, but it hasn’t. … I miss her, no doubt about it.”
4. Emily reveals her biggest season regret.
During the episode, she apologized for not giving Doug the group date rose in London after telling her about Kalon’s “baggage” comments.
“I could be engaged to Kalon right now,” she said, “and thank God for Doug.”
5. Emily Cried Watching Sean Leave.
The Bachelorette star was very upset over watching him leave.
“I want you to know that I watched the episode and literally sat in my room and did the ugly cry- the ugly, ugly, ugly cry. And everything that I felt for you was so true and so genuine and real for me…I mean, what girl wouldn’t want Sean?”
The Bachelorette finale airs Sunday, July 22, at 8PM ET followed by the one-hour live “After the Final Rose” episode. Who do you think will be Emily’s new fiancé – Arie or Jef? Tell us in the comments, below.
