Berry, 45, was filming her new movie The Hive when the incident occurred around 10 p.m., London Daily Mail reports. The actress was transported to the hospital in an ambulance, and the set was shut down shortly thereafter.
Prior to her fall, the Oscar winner looked to be in good spirits as she waved and smiled at cameras while exiting her trailer.
Ironically, her new movie takes place at a 911 call center.
The film also stars Little Miss Sunshine actress Abigail Breslin; its plot, according to IMDb.com, focuses on an emergency operator (Berry) who must confront a killer from her past in order to save a young girl’s life.
The thriller has no theater release date as of yet.
This isn’t the actress’ first on-set injury.
Berry suffered an eye injury while shooting the James Bond film, Die Another Day, in 2002. A year later, she broke her arm on set of Gothika, and in 2004, she was hospitalized after she was hit in the head with a lighting prop while filming the ill-fated Catwoman.
And just last year, Berry broke her foot while filming Cloud Atlas in Spain.
UPDATE: Berry’s rep told Celebuzz that the actress is fine. Said the rep: “Halle Berry suffered a minor head injury while shooting a fight sequence on the set of her film, The Hive. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but she checked out healthy and was released. She’ll continue production as planned.”
