For those who haven’t read Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, Gloss is a former Career tribute from District 1, who is competing in the Quarter Quell alongside his sister, Cashmere.
And for those who don’t know Ritchson, the 27-year-old is arguably best known for his role on Blue Mountain State, which ran for three seasons on Spike TV.
This is just the latest bit of casting news to come out of Catching Fire. Also joining the saga: Philip Seymour Hoffman, as Plutarch Heavensbee; Amanda Plummer, as Wiress; Sam Claflin, as Finnick; and Lynn Cohen, as Mags.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire — which will see the return of stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth — opens Nov. 22, 2013. Francis Lawrence is directing.
In July, it was announced that Mockingjay, the third and final chapter in the Hunger Games trilogy, will be split into two movies with release dates set for Nov. 21, 2014 and Nov. 20, 2015, respectively.
