This August, Forbes released its first-ever list of the world’s highest-earning DJs — and revealed that spinmasters such as Pauly D, Skrillex, Afrojack and Tiesto are making a whole lotta loot.
Just how much dough are the DJs bringing home?
Pauly D –– best known as a pretty face (and buff bod) on Jersey Shore — rakes in $11 million a year as a DJ, placing him at number 7 on the Forbes list.
Landing at number 4 on the list is David Guetta, who made $13.5 million. He’s not just known for spinning records but for making them as well: his Nothing But the Beat album produced the hits “Without You” featuring Usher; “Titanium,” featuring Sia; and “Turn Me On” with Nicki Minaj.
Skrillex, Afrojack and Swedish House Mafia also placed on the list, bringing in $9 million, $14 million and $15 million each, respectively. Also making big bucks: Avicii, with $7 million; Kaskade, with $10 million; Deadmau5 with $11.5 million; and SteveAoki, with $12 million.
But who makes the most?
Tiesto — a record producer for electronic dance music who also spins all around the world — topped the Forbes list by pulling in a whopping $22 million. The Dutch native reportedly makes $250,000 per show.
